dv to anything

hi ive just joined your forum it seems very informative!well lets get to the problem,ive been capturing dv from my digi camcorder no probs at all,but when i try to convert it to divx/dvd/vcd or svcd when i play it i get localised lines where an object is moving on the video but im sure its not an interlace prob cos ive tried it both ways. would be grateful for help. p.s hope this is in the right section.

Try switching your field order. If you selected top first, then try bottom first. If you get these wrong, you will notice a kind of jumpy, or jerkiness to your video.

Your source is Interlaced, and should be setup as such in your encoder. Are these lines visible when played back on your TV?
