  1. I need to know what cd-r's to buy to burn mpg movies to and watch them on my dvd player. I once burned a cd for my friend on the green bottom and my friend was able to watch it on his cheap dvd player but on his sony dvd player he could not. And i was just wondering if i can just buy the cd-rs with the black bottoms and would i be able to watch them on any high quality dvd player.

It seems to vary quite a bit with the player, so I don't think there is one best brand for all players. I understand that some players will not play any CD-Rs, but will play CD-RW...go figure!

Many people in these forums, especially me, have had a lot of trouble with Memorex. Now I buy the cheapest I can find and they work well. (Both brands I have now have green bottoms.)

    Good luck,

new to all this but my fairly cheap Philips 704 hasnt had any trouble yet playing the cheapest cd-r Ive thrown at it. Using ones now called Mediapro, 32X 800MB, $12.50 for 100 from newegg.com. not sure if they still carry them.
