  1. Anyone out there own a 343 and watch 'backed-up' DVDs in it? If so please tell me what brand of DVD-R you would recommend. I have this player and so far just tested Princo 2x media with mixed results.

    Thanks

  3. Yes i have a 343 and have successfully used TDK +RW that i burned with my Sony DRU-500. Burned an exact copy of movie on 2 disk and it plays with great results. Havent tried any other media yet. I havent heard if the 343 will play -R DVD's but i know it works with +R and +RW. This is a great drive if you can get your hands on one.
Also, before i installed the Sony, i used to burn SVCD of movies, on Memorex 80min CD-R's and these played good too.
    hope this helps...

the 343 will play just about anything --i havnt found anything that will NOT play on it .. best quality are xvcd at 720 x 480 @ 2450 bit rate and 48khz audio (for cd) .. it will play any type of dvd disk ..

but the build quality of this model is hit or miss and its noisy when playing ..
