  1. Hi all!

I'm a newbie to this board and I have a question regarding DVD-copying!

Can anyone help me with info on how to copy a DVD-R disc (4.7GB) to DVD? I recently recieved a couple of these which my standalone DVD player can't play. My player plays most of the stuff I put into it but not DVD-R. So I have to do this copying on my PC.

    Regards Thomas

  3. Thanks!

Żes, these are home made DVD-R's that I wish to copy to DVD+R. I'm in Europe (Sweden) and I think that DVD+R is the thing here. The discs I got are burned in the US. What software shall I use for copying/tranfering?
I will soon have the Sony burner that can burn both DVD-R and DVD+R. OK?

if you got this disc from the us its probably NTSC and i imagine your in a PAL region. your equipment -dvd player & tv- will need to be able to handle NTSC.

  5. Hi!

    Thanks!

My stand alone DVD player and TV can handle NTSC and are they region free as well. A lot of stuff in Europe offers that. Cool eeh?

So it's a DVD-R thing only to be solved, I think. So now it's a PC matter only. Software etc? Any ideas?

Look in the tools section to the left, it will list programs to burn dvd's. some trials there that should work.

  7. does your standalone play DVD+R discs? I would think that is something you should be sure of first.

However, once you have your new drive that can do both, all you really would have to do is copy the video_ts folder to your computer, and reburn it to a DVD+R disc. You don't need to even mess with ripping, encoding or anything else.

  8. You should be able to copy (not copyrighted) DVD-R to DVD+R with sofware that will come with Sony drive.... I think (I didn't try). There is "Copy DVD" function.
