i cant find a straight answer

...hello,
i recently got a new imac with a superdrive.....i have a dvd....all i want is a nice step by step guide on how i go about taking this dvd disk and eventually end up with a cd-rw with a vcd on it, or end up with a dvd-r with whatever format a dvd-r holds...

...i have been searching for hours, honestly....it seems like everytime that i think im getting somewhere either the link dosent work right, or the downloadable file is not downloadable, or something just dosent work right....

i figure that im just overlooking the info that i want...its just that all the questions that i have went thro dont begin at the begining...at least not when dealing with a mac...they all already have gotten somewhere...i have gotten nowhere, and the only software that i have came with my imac...

can somebody just post a link that will guide my step by step/software conversion by software conversion/ on how i take a dvd ... rip it/convert it/deal with it/and do whatever complex steps necessary to come out with a vcd or dvd-r...

I once drove a company vehicle with that number, which i will not
mention...it almost killed me dammn it...they also forgot to tell me
it was wrecked, guess what happened? It killed the person before
me, just drop that number and be happy, you may live longer...
