  1. I got 2 files (from a DVD rip in a 2 .bin files I extracted) already in SVCD format. They are both just over 79 minutes and some odd seconds. My burner (HP8100i) cant burn much more than a little over 79 minutes, thus these files are too big. How can I convert these so each piece is under 79 minutes (I know I may get 3 cds). I tried tpmgenc and vcd cutter and they wont work. tpmgenc just hangs and looks like it thinks the movie is about 4 seconds long...lol. Any ideas? I just want to get them to fit on cds. Thanks.

  2. i got an hp 9110i and i can burn above 79 min but not overburn, maybe you can try and use something like vcdimagergui to make the bin/cue of the movie so it will not contain any unneccessary files. hope that helps!

  3. with svcd format you can only fit about 44-50 min so ur gonna have 4 cds because most athoring software has about 100mb overhead
TMPGenc only mpeg files for cut or merge

  4. Maybe I wasn't clear..
i have two bin files and tried to burn them and they didnt fit.
i extracted .mpg file from both.
i can't get tpmgenc to split them (chop off end of first) to make smaller.

Any ideas? (Maybe I don't know what i am doing) This worked in the past.

  5. how are u trying???
    what steps are u doing???
if u use the file->mpeg tools-., cut / merge - add the file, highlight the file, press edit and split it where u want it should work (i'm using 12i and it works for me all the time

  6. vcdcutter is for mpg1 only. i can't get TMPGEnc 12i to work with mpeg2 either. I use m2-edit but any dvd authoring software should also be able to handle joining the video and cutting it into the sizes that your want without having to reincode it.

Exactly as you said. It used to work. Maybe I will try older version.

  8. Problem solved. I used CDMage to extract .mpg from .bin and it must have done something wierd. I used VCDGear 2 and did it and all is fine. Thanks.
