I use Smartripper>DVD2AVI>Tmpgenc to make VCDs. The volume level after ripping seems a lot lower than the original disk. Is there a way, probably through DVD2AVI or Tmpgenc, to raise the volume a bit?

TMPGENC
Setting/ Advanced/ Audio Effect. Double click to have audio adjustment featrures. Be careful though, its easy to distort the sound. Play around with it till you get a good result. -
In DVD2AVI under audio click on 'normalize,' a dialog box will appear, click the little box in the top right to enable, and choose a setting for 0-100 (72 seems to work pretty good for me). Same result as playing around in TMPGenc but less risky
Also I'm using CCE these days so...
