    I took an avi file and converted it to svcd format with roxio video pack. The movie came out great with one exception- no sound. on the pc nor the svcd. any thoughts on this one?

    Only one thought. Don't use Roxio Videopack. Can't claim to have used it myself but it gets a pretty bad press round here. Use TmpGenc for encoding, VCDEasy for authoring and Nero for Burning. Lots of info available for these tools in the guides listed on the left.
