How to tell what firmware I currently have for my writer?

Hi I have a Pioneer A104 I do not know what firmware I currently have. I do remembering that I updated it recently. How do I check what firmware I have? also I heard that if you have a certain firmware you can burn Ritek dvd-r 1x at 2x? Also can these dvd-r burn at 2x if I have the right firmware?

I am also purchasing a Pioneer A105 will that burner burn the Riteks at 2x? considering that I am using the 1x Riteks... Can I upgrade the firmware for the A05 if there is an upgrade to allow me to burn 1x media at 2x?

If you have Nero, try "Recorder / Choose recorder". It should give you info about burner.

Hey thanks for the quick reply. Ok now I have firmware version 1.32, how do I downgrade it to 1.31? and can you link me to where I can download this?

MY new Pioneer A05 should be coming soon will it run the Ritek media at 2x?

Because I read over at shop4tech.com that those media will burn on 2x with the firmware version of 1.31 with the Pioneer a04. So my concern is the A05 will it also burn at 2x? Thanks

Ok I found the firmeware for 1.31. Now who knows how to downgrade it from 1.32 to 1.31. I am using Winxp so is there a program that I can use to downgrade it?
