  2. At those prices partner, I'll stick with 2x-2.4x. Burning an entire DVD-R +R -/+RW in 20 minutes is fine with me.

Who is the "Maker of Record" from ADVDInfo.EXE on these disks. Is it TDK?

Where does one find this utility, ADVDInfo.EXE, that gives this information? I did a Google search and turned up nothing. Is it mispelled?

    Thanks in advance

    How to use ADVDInfo?

    1. Download the ADVDInfo software first and extract it anywhere.

    2. Insert your DVD-R/W in your DVD-Writer or DVD-ROM.

    3. Start ADVDInfo. If it complains about ASPI when you start it install latest ASPI and reboot.
    4. In ADVDInfo, select your DVD-Writer or DVD-ROM and select the 0E-Pre-Recorded Information in Lead-in in the dropdown list and last hit Read DVD Struct. You will now get some data:

For instance, for Pioneer 2x DVD-R, you would have something like:

    00 42 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 50 00 02 87 0D 13 .B...@....P.....
    88 99 80 00 03 4D 43 43 20 30 30 00 04 52 47 32 .....MCC 00..RG2
    30 30 20 00 05 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 .............

The red one is the main id and all three lines are the complete advdinfo. All the lines with only 00 is no information.
