i dont like rap/hip hop or whatever she did, im a metal head. but she seemed really nice. to bad hot people have to die=\ -
Yo that is tooooo sad...man I was looking forward to peeping her in Matrix 2 & 3...just sad, shows how quick life can be, live it while ya got it!
-
I didn't care for her music that much. But she was a pretty damn good actress, I think she was in "Romeo Must Die", right?
Tom Green Sucks! -
Yep Romeo Muat Die and she was filming The Matrix 2 and 3. I'm guessing they will be delayed.
-
Alright, now i have more time to say more... i thought you were messing around, but then i thought "why would someone say that here?"... i still can't believe it, i thought she'd have a longer future... And not only that, but she was a Nine Inch Nails fan too... love, i liked her...
I feel bad for her family....
Shit happens,... unfortunately.

I, as well, was not a fan, but I thought she was very talented, both as a singer and actress. I heard the "news brief" report on it, but was totally unprepared for it. The newscaster was talking about the powerball winners. She said that four people won, one guy was from Kentucky or something and pop-music star and actress Allyah dies in a crash. I thought for a moment that she was going to be one of the lottery winners! I thought, for a split second, that it sucks when famous people win lottery drawings. As I said, unexpected news. The newscaster lady said it all in one breath, I mean, aren't they supposed to prepare you for a story like that by saying something like, "And on a sad note..."?
-
it would have been a bigger tragedy if a powerball winner had died in a plane crash. but it woulda been alot better if aaliyah had won the powerball lotto and died in a plance crash and her ticket got destoryed.
and yes, she was a good singer/actress, and she was fockable.. maybe still is.. just a little bit, mm, maybe not, mm, maybe.. uhm.... thats a tough one..
hehe

I heard recently that matrix 2 was delayed till next year and then matrix 3 in 2003. But its really sad that she died
-
Yeah, I was pissed when I heard that. I thought she was real hot, she could sing her music style flawlessly, and she was a not bad actress. I've heard her stuff ever since she came out when she was 14. Now she died 6 years later at 22. WTF, man. It was sad. It took me like a day before I finally admitted and confirmed that it was not fake news and she really had died.

Putting all jokes aside, i'm still shocked.... like i said, i can't believe she died... she was growning as an actress, while she had the music down beautifully..
I feel bad for all the people in the plane too, they were doing their job.... -
It's really heartbreaking when "shit happens" to people who are (or were) the living breathing example of what role models for young people should be ... just heartbreaking.
Now that I've seen the retrospective on MTV, and thought back about all the records I'd heard and liked but never quite knew who sang them ... turns out they were Aaliyah's work. When I heard them I remember thinking "It's not too important right now to find out who's behind these songs ... they'll be around." I was reminded Sunday morning to appreciate everything now, rather than marking it on my To Do list for later.
Aaliyah was a remarkable artist, not because she took the world by storm, but because she was making creative leaps and bounds right before our eyes. She started in a mold of your basic American R&B singer, which a lot of people do, but on her second and third albums, tried to reveal more of an artistic direction for her career, which a number of casual listeners noticed.
Her fans noticed a evolving rapport between Aaliyah and Timbaland, with their recordings revealing a point - counterpoint creative relationship that evolved into songs like "Try again" and "We need a resolution" both of which explored different aspects of male/female relationships. In fact, the Aaliyah/Timbaland dynamic was in itself a point - counterpoint to the edgier dynamic forged by Timbaland and Missy Elliott in their collaborations. It was as if, from Timbaland's perspective, Aaliyah and Missy were two sides of the same woman .. and all took the time to create music to explore the full dynamic of romantic human interaction .. through songs.
Last Sunday I kept searching internet news sites thinking "There must be some mistake." It's nearly Wednesday now and I'm just accepting the truth. Although I didn't know Aaliyah personally, sudden tragic death is always hard to take. I will miss her. I will not forget her. -

antynyMD, you yourself said --
"Now that I've seen the retrospective on MTV, and thought back about all the records I'd heard and liked but never quite knew who sang them ... turns out they were Aaliyah's work"
and now you're writing a short focking novel over the whole thing? you didnt know who the fock she was, but suddenly you care so much. pshh.. my dog just died, will you write a 300 word essay about his death? his name was "i'm a retard who pretends they care about celebrities who died".. seriously.. shit, you must have wrote a focking volume of books when princess di died... heh.
by AntnyMD again--

good lord, are you some kinda douche or something? save this shit for when you're trying to be emotional and score some poon.. jesus christ..
and really, this brings up an interesting question.. mtv didnt show retrospective sunday morning, it was wayy after that.. they didnt have one prepared for aaliyah, only the old singers who could die.. like mick jagger, some members of aerosmith, maybe some of the beatles.. so once this douche heard that aaliyah died, he hadnt seen the mtv retrspective and made the discovery "hey, this ho did all these songs i liked".. yet, he cared sunday morning... he's a focking liar.. proving he just wrote this whole focking thing just to make people think he cares.. i hate to go on, but i hate fake people like this ass of asses...
following is his entire post, just incase the douche tries to go in an edit it to make himself seem right...
