  1. what is the best one?
i want to rip all the content of the DVD to my HD and than just copy it to DVD-R (less than 4.7GB)
i used DVDdecrypter but it wont access my DVD, i used Smartrip something and it rips but not the all files
can i just copy the entire content of the DVD directly to the HD?

  3. DVD decrypter generally works fairly well...

It sounds like you may have a problem with authentication. If SmartRipper can rip, it means that SmartRipper is able to authenticate the drive. You could always just load up SmartRipper first, THEN load DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD (don't close SmartRipper).

Or, use SmartRipper in File Mode.

  4. Either one of those programs should work fine. Are you unlocking the files first? In order to do this, you need to play the main portion of the DVD movie using the software DVD player that is installed on your system. (You only need to play the movie for just a few seconds.)

  7. Ripping speed can depend on how "readable" the DVD is as well. For example, it generally goes down if the disc is scratched.

I personally find that DVD Decrypter works better than SmartRipper, but Smartripper is very good too.

Would you please explain why you like Decrypter better. I am using both and I actually am beginning to like Smartripper better because it can do one thing DVD Decrypter can't (that I need).

It can rip .m2v and .ac3 files from .vob files that exist on my hd where DVD Decrypter will only rip from the DVD drive.

  9. In my readings/research and without going into details, it seems that DVD Decrypter is the RIPPER of choice, with Smartripper being second.

  11. I like DVD Decrypter more because it does everything I need it to. Also, it has worked on those rare discs that SmartRipper baulked on...
