I recently upgraded my capture hardware from a Dazzle DVCII to the Dazzle DVC200 USB. I have noticed that it used to caputure a 30 min VHS clip using 352x240 MPEG1 compression taking up half the space. I have tried using all the conversion guides on this site to reduce the file size, but none of them seem to be able to handle the codec. Does anyone know how to change the codec on the MovieStar5 software to get smaller file sizes using the same compression properties described above? and for that matter, better codec for MPEG2? And if I use other software, like Adobe Premiere, does it use hardware opr software compression? (being that is why i bought the DVC200)
thanks,
Kevin

My current rate w/DVC 200:
30 min MPEG1 File = 450 MB
My old rate w/DVC II:
30 min MPEG1 File = 200 MB
Does anyone have a Dazzle DVC200 that can give me some tips on capturing using MovieStar 5?
thanks,
Kevin
