After toying with it for a few days I can see my computer desktop clearly on the TV, but when I play a movie the screen is completely black. I think i've set up twin view correctly. I downloaded the detonator drivers and the audio is fine. I ran video from the RCA output on my video card (i didn't use the S video connection) to an RCA adapter box and into my tv. Same with audio from my soundcard. I figured the problem is my cofiguration settings but I've tried most of the things I wasn't too afraid to tinker with. Still a black screen. My system specs is in my profile. If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks.

Ah the old black box/blank screen problem, I have seen this on a friends WinFast A250 MyViVo (which is also a GF4) and at first it had me completely stumped because it worked fine with Windows 2000 but after upgrading to Win XP it had the problem you describe. After reinstalling Win2000 it still didn't work, hence my confusion it turned out this was NOT the cause of the problem.

Anyway enough background, the problem was the Hardware acceleration settings, which on this card, could not be set in Display properties. Then I came across a post for a sort of similar problem and found that some software allowed you to adjust Hardware acceleration and others did not. Cyberlink DVD player lets you turn it off and on, Windows Media Player 6.4 lets you adjust it from None to High (only worked set to None), Realplayer 8 also lets you adjust it but is so far untested. Other packages may or may not let you change it depending if the option is available.

As a sidenote we found that using WinFast PVR (which is actually meant for capturing video) played fine every time so presumably it never uses hardware acceleration for playback.

    Hope some of this helps

thanks, I'll try winfast to if it works and let you know. Coincidentally, I read on Leadteks page that is meant for vivo cards only, but I'll give it a shot.

  6. In Regards to the blank Screen Issue I have a Radeon 7000 tv out card and have been playing movies well. The other day I went to sit down and watch a movie through my computer onto my TV and got the blank screen. Any way I found that only my MPEGS were effected. After reading these post i went back to Windows Media player and reset the Hardware Acceleration to none and it worked Great, Thanks guys you have been a lot of help

Hey Guys, sorry it took me so long to get back but I've been real busy and just got around to trying some of the suggestions.

Video Acceleration was the problem. I turned it done to none in windows media player and it worked.

    Thanks everyone for your input.

ok guys here's my latest update. adjusting hardware acceleration Windows media player worked for some movies, not all. So I installed winfast, and even though I haven't been able to get it play video or sound it seems that it installed something I needed because my other players are now working with tv out.

    Well that it for me.
    Thanks.
