I am having this weird problem that hopefully someone will be able to help me with. I have captured an AVI from my digital camera and it is 33 minutes long. I can view the whole avi from start to finish. When I encoded it with Tmpgenc using 2p VBR, it plays fine until about 9 minutes in then the screen goes black and all i can hear is sound. Anyone have any idea why this is?
Also if I go into Tmpgenc and try and use one of the filters it seems that after the 9 minute mark the screen is just frozen with the last frame that was shown after the 9 minutes.
Thanks alot for any help.

Hehe! i have gotten the same problem. But, in my case, i was converting RM to AVI. I used Tinra to solve the problem. Using EO Video to convert from AVI to MPEG should solve your problem. If not, use Virtual Dub and scan the video for errors, and after that, save it as a new AVI and see if that works.

I tried scanning for errors in VDub, and it found none. I also saved it as something else and I am getting the same errors.
What is EO Video and will it offer the same quality as Tmpgenc?
Anyone else know what might be causing this to happen. I have converted a few others with no problem. Thanks. -
try frameserving from virtualdub without any filters or anything, except maybe null transform.
I have to do this to encode ANY video I have captured using miro dc30+
MJPEG capture board with TMPEG otherwise only a really messed up frame appears with a black bar across it and the frame never changes. -
I can try that but its weird I have done 3 or 4 other encodes with no problem. It doesn't make to much sense. I guess I can try to capture it again and see if I am having the same problem.
Thanks.
