  1. Hey,

I was just kinda wondering if it was possible to copy a DVD. When I say DVD, I mean a DVD as in one that you buy from the store. I know that this question may sound stupid and dumb, but I would just like to know. And if it is possible, what programs and how do I do it? Thank you for your time.

    Love,

  2. Yes alot of us do it all the time for backups.

Look to the left and start reading the guides under DVD Rip, conversion etc.

What other kind of DVD is there?

  5. When you mention a store DVD I assume that you mean a movie DVD.
Can a DVD be copied like a CD-ROM or Audio CD? The answer is "No". This is because most movie DVDs are dual layer and CSS encrypted. Can it be ripped/decrypted and then re-encoded to another DVD (-R/+R). Yes.

For ripping DVD you can use many programs such as SmartRipper or cladDVD XP and encoding tools such as TMPGenc. The "DVD RIP" section at the left has plenty of articles on how to do this.
