    I have finaly the Sony DRU500A and i wonder how can i unlocak the Region to be free?
    2) is there a mpeg2 bit rate calculator?(DVD files)

    There is no region free firmware yet available for the Sony DRU-500. When somebody makes one, it will be available on this website:

    You will also need DVD Region Killer (freeware) once that the region free (rpc-1) firmware is available.
