  1. Trying out this program, I do most of my own rips but this looks like it may fit the bill for the one situation where I want a DVD9 to span 2 disks and keep perfect quality. The one thing that bugs me about this program is not being able to copy a copy, just plain bugs me, no real reason. Anyone found a patch or fix or get around this yet? Thanks.

  2. Any burning prog that supports your DVD should work - CSS is now cracked. Nero & RecordNow both work with my Sony.

  3. So you create virtual dir or drive first then burn with another program. DVDxCopy seems to put me in auto pilot and does the burn for me. It rips everything to a temp dir then deletes it as far as I can tell. I'll look more into trying to get Nero to do the final burn, will this remove their 'water mark' so that a copy can be copied?

  4. I burned the initial copy with DVDXCOPY, then copied THAT with Nero's "copy DVD".

  5. You should also be able to copy a dvdxcopy dvd using dvddecrypter or smartripper and the method for copying dvd5 discs since dvdxcopy turns a dvd9 into 2- 4.7 DVDR discs.
Also you may want to use dvdxcopy only for copying dvd9s since it puts that watermark and the 321 warning screen on each dvd.
You don't need dvdxcopy to make a perfect dvd5 copy.
I will say that the new version 1.2 is a nice little program.

update- I successfuly ripped and copied a dvd made with dvdxcopy. However the 321 disclaimer is still there but it works fine so you can copy, just use freeware!

  6. Can anyone give me the license code and password for DVDXCOPY?? My system crashed and I lost the license code and passworrd. When I re-installed it I called them and the jerks won't supply me with a new one. I don't feel like spending another $99 if maybe I could get the info from someone who also has the program.
    Thanks

That's a pretty lame effort at trying get a serial number.

If your story is TRUE, then I suggest that you badger 321 Studios until they give you what you've paid for (a working program and product support).

Warning: anyone else asking for or give out WAREZ (on this board or by PM) will be banned.

    Regards.

In General I agree 100%, but, I once bought a program download style, paid for it with a credit card and had a problem. I went on a forum, Audio forum and noted my problem. I was called everything even a PIRATE and a THIEF PUBLICLY by the company. Not only did I ahve a problem with teh program but I CLEANED out (deleted) many many hours of hard work on my computer.

I fought hard but fair with Syntrillium over the Cool edit problem. Eventually Bob Ellison (I think was his name) admited in a private Email I was a legit customer and ahd a honest beef. OF course that was AFTER sending him a copy of HIS billing and my credit card transaction data etc.
I came very close to suing them, but did not.

once it became public that the company was simply too lazy to check their records before calling me a crook my handle was disabled so there would be no record of what had happened.

I agree that it sounds like the guy is trying to get a free ride, via someone elses hundred buck, but hings do happen adn sellers are not always honest about it. In fact sometimes, not too often though, the sellers are at fault and the custome MAY????? have a legit gripe and or problem.

My suggest is to first beat the horse to death with the people that took your money for the product, go to your bank/credit card company and if need be call a LAWYER! That is if you did in fact pay for the product.

Even good companies products can cause system crashes, CAKEWALK a big name in audio did that to me and it cost me more to fix the problem THEIR program did to my system that the expensive program cost. I did have all the serial numbers etc. so was able to use the program after taking care of the problem. Windows is not anywhere near a failsafe operating system and one time an install will work fine and another time your system may crash big time for no apparant reason and neither MS or the software co whos program you are trying to install or reinstall on the same computer will admit to it even if they KNOW a realted problem exist.

    BEEN there, not always fair.

I made a typo or 2, one biggie was I cleaned out my work, NO I did not, the program I PAID for cleaned out my work. You see they had protection scheme where IF the program THOUGH you ahd an pirated copy on the computer it wouldDELETE your work. In my case I ahd a trial version DOWNLOADED from them on the system I used to check and test teh program out to be sure it had ALL the features advertised and I needed. It did so I PAID for a set of codes and password related to my name to 'unlock" the trial version.

I know all this net stuff makes for a near paperless system but PRINT out every important item related to internet purchases, hardware or software. I have bought many things from good places on the net, but things do happen and it may not be either your falut or the seller.

PS: if the software seller is rather paranoid about priacy, there is a good chance they stole all or some of the product they are selling, even if it is a comercial business. Learned that about the audio software I had a problem big time with and even who and how they ripped off the real author of the software they were selling. I am not talking aobut freeware or shareware either, comercially released software.

Even MicroS*** ripped off a disk comression company, (see a stacker anywhere?) so just because tehy are a big name does not mean they are 99 44/100% honest either.

IMPORTANT, even if tehy falsely accuse you avoid accusing them. Let them pull all the nasty stuff, then nail them later if they refuse to do right by you, IF you paid for it that is.

I have successfully removed the 321 disclaimer which takes about 7 seconds to play using VOBrator and IfoEdit. 8) VOBrator is a real pain because it wants to quite before you are done so you must open it multiple times to get all of the information.

This method works to remove any warnings, logos etc.

Here is what I did using the movie Gladiator as an example:

    1. Use DVDXCOPY to rip movie to HD.

    2. When DVDXCOPY ask you to burn the 1st DVD, go to the directory where the first half of the movie is saved.

    3. The 321Studio warning is located in the VIDEO_TS.VOB file.

    4. Run VOBrator and open VIDEO_TS.VOB. Find the VOBID that is the warning. With Gladiator it was ID=5. Write down this information for later use in IfoEdit.

    5. For Gladiator there is an FBI warning also. Using VOBrator open the file VTS_01_0.VOB. The FBI warning is on ID=15. Write this information down. NOTE: your main movie may not be VTS_01_0.VOB but VTS_05_0.VOB. So chose the correct .VOB for your movie.

    6. Your movie may contain other Welcome Screens, copyright warning or LOGOs that you want to remove. Use the above method to find the ID's for later removal in IfoEdit.

    7. Now run IfoEdit and open VIDEO_TS.VOB from the directory that DVDXCOPY created. Scroll down the VMG_OVERVIEW to the 'Menu language Unit' section. Now look for (uses VOB-ID's :5). Now click on this line to high light it then press the button 'DELETE PLAYBACK'. Save the .IFO and .BUP file, overwiting the existing file in the directory that DVDXCOPY put the 1st half of the move. The 321Studio disclaimer is gone!

    8. Repeat the above process for the VTS_01.0.VOB file which contained the FBI warning. For the Gladiator it was ID=15. Also ID=16 was associated with 15 so one delete kills them both. Be sure and SAVE the .IFO and .BUP files.

    9. Finally there is a .TXT file located in the directory that DVDXCOPY created the first half of the movie. Delete this file.

    10. Go back to DVDXCOPY and follow the BURN method you desire.

This method removes the warnings for DVD 1. I did not take the time to do DVD 2 but the same procedure will work on this one also.

Following the above procedures now allows DVDXCOPY to copy a copy as it doesn't know that it was not an original! There are much better methods to use to do a DVD copy after you have ripped the protection.

This process should take about 5 minutes depending on how many times VOBrator quites on you!

I am not sure how to make this a GUIDE on this forum but maybe a MODERATOR could do it?

Why did you waste your $100 on DVDXCOPY if you
    know how Ifoedit works?

    Tony

I purchased my Sony DVD burner about Oct 14. At that time I was looking for the easiest method to back up my DVD's. DVDXCOPY looked like the ticket so I purchase a copy before it was offically released.

DVDXCOPY finally became a stable product with version 1.2 that was released on Nov 30. During that 6 week period I took the time to learn IfoEdit and other programs.

For the newbie looking for a quick method to copy their DVD's DVDXCOPY is very good. If you have the time and desire then IfoEdit and DVD Decrytper is FREE and good. Also DVD2DVDR is FREE but and very good but requires a little bit to learn. I also purchased DVDSplit for $15.

Now things get interesting. DVDSplit has been discontinued but I get a free copy of DVDXCOPY because I purchased this product. So I am going to get my money back on the initial purchase of $79 that I paid for DVDXCOPY and I now have both DVDXCOPY and DVDSplit for $15!
