  1. I want to make a VideoCD with TmpgEnc. I have tested 2 minutes divx, to see what is the
aprox. size of mpeg when I change it to VideoCD. But when I change the Bitrate in the
settings the size of the movie remains the same!!! If the movie with 1150 kbps sizes 20258 kB
then at 650 kbps it should be smaller!! But it remains the same (20258).

    Where is the problem?

    The settings I used:
    MPEG-1 Video,
    Size: 352x288
    25 fps
    Constant bitrate(CBR)
    1150 kbps and 650kbps
    40KB buffer size

    Please help!

You're probably using a locked wizard.
Cancel the wizard, and specify your input/output in the main window Video source/Output file name selectors.
Select Stream type: System (Video+Audio). Click on Settings and select MPEG1 Video-CD(non standard) in the select box on the System tab
Adjust the settings on the Video, Advanced and Audio tabs to your liking, and pray that your DVD will play the XVCD

  3. This setting seems not to work in TMPGEnc PLus 2.59.
Any setting I choose, the output file size is the same.

    Any ideas ?

  4. As what was stated before.

You are using the locked template. If you simply change the VCD template, the stream type is still MPEG-1 Video-CD so even if the bitrate is lower, I think that it still gets padded to the full size.

To unlock all the options, try going to "File --> New Project" in TMPGEnc.

  5. Yes it is more than likely being padded because you have the stream type set to mpeg1 video cd, set it to mpeg1 video cd(non standard)

  6. I have already used this option before, with 2.57, and it works as you stated.
I know buecause sometimes i forget to set and the resulting file is bigger than CD.
But with 2.59 Plus the result for me is the same, with MPEG1 standard or non-standard.
The content of file is different (visible by the quality) but padded to standard.
I tried to remux the file and it became the right size.
But when i fed it to VCDImager it was padded again to the standard.

Please if any of you can try with 2.59.
