I have been ripping my DVDs with Smartripper and backing them up to DVDR with Nero.

I rip all the files to my hard drive and then split them over two discs. I use the exact files-no re-encoding. Sure I have to get up half way through the movie to switch discs, but it plays eactly like the original with all menus, subtitles, etc.

This method has worked flawlessly with over 50 movies- except for Columbia Tristar DVDs- Spiderman, Black Hawk Down, Ghostbusters, etc

Every Columbia movie I've ripped plays the main movie fine, but when you go to the Special Features screen- it freezes up and another screen superimposes itself over the top half of the menu. The disc freezes and you have to restart the player. My PS2 wont rven read these discs.

This is driving me nuts! If anybody has any solutions or suggestions, I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply guys.

Maybe it's the burning program I'm using. I've had some really strange problems with Nero. When I install Stomp, Nero freaks out and tells me that every blank I put in is not writable and spits them out. I have to uninstall Stomp before Nero will work again.

Hey baked, what program did you use to burn Spiderman and what kind of settings did you use?

  6. I'm also having problems with Spiderman. I rip it with Smart-Ripper and save it to my hard drive. I play some of the movie first to see what I'll be getting on my DVD-R. However the audio is gone from Spiderman. I don't think I've tried other Columbia/Tristar DVDs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
