  1. I have been capturing video in XP mode so I can maintain the highest quality. However, I want to do more in depth editing that what is offered on the HS2. I have been dubbing 55-60 minutes in XP mode on dvd-ram and then copying the VRO files over to the PC. However, I am having problems converting the VRO to avi files. I would like ot convert to DV-AVI if possible but using dvd2avi it creates the avi and the wav file. I try muxing the avi and wav file in vdub but it crashes everytime I try.

Is there a good solution to edit VRO files on the PC or a guide somewhere? I dont want to lose the XP quality that I have managed to capture.

  5. Have you tried editing the .VRO files directly in a program that does MPEG-2 editing instead of trying to convert to AVI? I think that would be easier and preserve quality better than transcoding from MPEG-2 > AVI > MPEG-2.
Also try posting at the AVS forums there are a lot of HS2 users there. I am thinking of getting one so let us know if you come up with anything.

I would suggest doing a search of all the forums. Use the keyword vro.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
