    A simple question - i hope
    VCD , MPEG-1 standard is VIDEO 1150 , AUDIO 224

If i decrease the AUDIO to 128 can i increase the VIDEO to 1246 and still keep the VCD "standard" ? Or is it now a XVCD and if that is the case i might as well bump the bitrate to 5000ish.

  2. Technically it's an XVCD but you will often find it's a more commonly tolerated format. I have a very fussy DVD player ( Sharp DV600 ) which will only accept standard VCD but it will handle this format. You used to find a template for it in TMPEG marked as 'Illegal VCD'.

    Best bet....try it and see.

    Good Luck,
    Ian

  4. It's an xVCD. Most players will not support x(S)VCD bitrates of 5,000kbit/s. Check on the DVD list to see what you'rs will play. My APEX AD600A is listed as 2700 max but will play up 3,000 (above that it 'things start to happen').
