  1. I was wondering if anyone else besides the two who commented in the media list have tried these dvd-r media. I was also wondering if these are as good as the ritek G03 media.

One last question. Does anyone know if anywhere on the internet that they have done test to show which dvd-r media is the most universal to use in set top dvd players. I heard from a friend that maxell and sony where the best. Can anyone confirm this?

Here is the info a pulled off of ADVDInfo.

Somewhere, on this site, there is a comparison of DVD media compatability. Basically DVD-R from Apple, Maxell, and one other were best for the general disks.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

  4. Actually, I am a Tech at one of the PC Club Stores so I gte to have some fun with our media but.... they are also known as ACCUS DVD-rs (www.meritline.com). I have recently switched from ACCUS to Riteks to give them a shot due to some problem I heard of from ACCUS. ACCUS are either made by lead data or Sony.

  5. both the lead data and sony ones I used from PCCLUB (thankfully) work at 2x burn with a04 and reliably read in every player I have tried including the major consoles. Of course I am one of the 2 people who posted a comment I think. Terra, what area pcclub do you work at?

  6. Terra,

Which pcclub do you work at? So does your store carry ritek dvd-r now instead of lead data or sony? If you are starting to carry ritek I hope you work in one of the San Diego based stores. One more thing, what problems did you hear of? Thanks for the info though.

    Slomer,

Thanks for the info. I am still confused on which media to purchase. The price is right at pcclub but it seems that riteks are the most reliable ones to use. I still do not know what to purchase. Thanks!

Stay away from Maxell! The worst DVD-R discs I ever had! At least when you play them on SONY desktops.
