I have a GeForce4 Ti 4600 with Video-In. It does its job fairly well on capturing video, but it only captures in black and white. I believe this has something to do with my VirtualDub only accepting UYVY as data format (I get an error if I try to select any other data format). I've tried to capture on other programs as well, but they all capture only in black and white. I have the latest version of the nVidia WDM drivers installed (1.16, I believe). I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this problem.
Thanks.

xb2,
this may, or may not work, but give it a try. Sometimes, it has to be woken
up. Anyways, under vdub, try doing this to wake color up:
* click on menu and select Video/Source
* now, just press the {OK} button
You should notice some color now. Be sure you are in PREVIEW mode.
If not, this may not work at all.
That's about all I know.

What kind of chipset does that card have? Do you have the latest drivers for it. are you using WDM drivers? Look into the driver angle, in vdub in cap mode you can change drivers,(if more than one installed. in cap mode go to video, check whats on the bottom divers recognized by vdud should be visible,if you have other than wdm drivers listed, then select the other and try again

The chipset is Philips 7108 and I have the nVidia WDM drivers v 1.19. On vdub, it only gives me the option of using Microsoft WDM Image Capture.
What's kind of weird is that I've just tried connecting my old N64 to the card's video-in and it works perfectly well: the image is clear and has colors - it is actually better than it is on TV. When I try to capture images from the VCR or the DVD Player, though, it only captures in black and white...
Thanks for the help -
Hi
Is your capture card connected via your VCR???
If yes are u using an s-video lead?????
If yes has your VCR got an s-video socket??
If no you will get black and white picture because its not s-video compatible.
YOU NEED TO CHANGE TO A COMPOSITE VIDEO LEAD.
If you only have an s-video socket on your capture card u can get an adapter. You may have one in your video card box.
If this isn't your problem then sorry I can't help.

My VCR only has a composite Video-Out connector and my card has both S-Video and Composite Video-In connectors. On vdub I've tried using both S-Video and Composite as video sources, but it didn't work anyway.
Thanks for the help -
virtual Dub does not like WDM drivers.
Have u tried mpeg2 capturing???
I get good results.
