i dont know why people think vcd->dvd is so tricky.. i did it the same day i got my dvd-r drive a year ago!!! the SAME day... its the most simple process ever, its more simple than duplicating a dvd....its more simple than tying my shoes!..... dvd studio pro is your answer... and your only answer for what u want to do.. idvd is a worthless pile

Are those DVDs or DVD-VCDs? There is a difference....

DVD-VCD is a DVD with a VCD format on it....(so that you don't have to make two vcds)

Which one are you talking about?

well if there is a difference i havent seen it... i just author mpeg-1 video and mp2 audio encoded at 48000 khz ALL as two files (one video, one audio), not two seperate mpeg and audio files... and if that is called dvd-vcd then call me confused because it has worked on every dvd player i've tried (even ones that lack vcd support) and it is the easiest thing ive ever done.

with regards to the ports of dvd author to os x, specifically the only one i know is the one kaicherry did and i dont want to convert my dvd's to space hog quicktime movies b4 i author to dvd... so as far as im concerned dvd studio pro is the only GOOD dvd authoring solution for os x.. unless one of the ones supports input of mpeg and will give me a VIDEO_TS folder that i can burn in dvd studio pro, than its not worth anything to me personally.

  7. The one you don't know about is "sizzle", very clean with a lot of potential.
Just select m2v & mp2, it then muxes as vob, generates VIDEO_TS, and builds udf disk image with one button.

I am sure if we ask, kaicherry could add options to bypass the encode process and go straight to mux and build.
