Could you state in which country you are. I think you'd find that you'd get a better response.
-
Yep, sorry. I'm from Finland, and there's no way to get 99min CDR's here only 90min's (one shop only so far).
Thanks,
Cosmo

Was that a typo of yours? 99min CD-R's are called 90+ min CD-R's in trade, as the max. which can be recorded is between 89:59 and 99:59 mins*.
*(depending on CD Writer)

oh really? ok then, it must be the Plextor mechanics that wont go over 89:59 then.
-
oh, i knew about that site, but as 16x model wasn't mentioned there at all, i thought it'd be interesting to try it on my own.
Also, the Plextor 16x test at http://www.cdrinfo.com, showed that they could burn almost 94minutes!
So... still i'd like to get one 99min CDR to my hands

Email me with your address if you like and I'll send you a couple to try out. I'm not in Finland, but still in Europe, which may help.

For those of you in the US, CompUSA have tons of them, on sale for $9.95 for 10 CDs with slim covers! (16x)

Can anyone give me a site or some information about which burners compatible with CDR 90+ mins. I own Iomega zip 650MB and use NERO 5.5x to burn (S)VCD all the time.

A few CD90+ specs you can find here
http://www.cd-rmedia.co.uk/mirror90compat.htm or lower on the page that mconrad gave
http://www.disc4you.com/news/99min.html
unfortunately on both websites your drive isn't mentioned.
Contact Iomega directly and ask them - that's what I did with my Mirai. -
Okay thanks, I think I have to e-mail Iomega about this. Next questions are. Can I burn 90+ CDRs using Nero for (S)VCD? What do I do or have to set up in NERO before using 90+ CDRs?
Thanks -
With some writers Nero recognizes the drive and permits burning these 90+ CD-R's without doing anything. On other drives you have to "enable overburn", as the drive regards this as something special.

I looked on CompUSA's website and can't find any 90+ minute CD-R media. Can you give us a SKU or something?
Thanks!

Here's the SKU# and the bar code number from a box of CompUSA 99 min. CDR's. Mine came in a box of 16 for $9.99. My burner a Ricoh MP9120a will only burn 89:59 but it's worth it.
SKU#EP40127G
Bar Code# 4766917059

I picked up some of the 99 minute CDR's at CompUsa. They are offering 16 disks in a pack for $9.95 which isn't too bad for special uses. I have a 16x Yamaha 2100ez cdrw drive which I have seen listed as compatable up to 89 minutes with these 99 minute CDR's. I'm also using Nero version 5.5.3.5. Problem I have is that Nero will not recognize the disks as anything over an 80 minute disk. It reports them as a typical 80 minute disk and will reject any attempted burns above the typical 80 minute threshhold.
Is anybody else having the same problem? Is there a fix anybody can suggest? -

When you press the "I" button (Displays CD Information) - what does Nero tell you?
-
In NERO you have to go into "advanced features" and enable "overburning" and set the parameter to 89:59. I works perfectly.
