    seems all the .avi files i download from kazaa are screwed up the sound plays fine but dont get a picture or all i get is effects.same effects for each movie have done tried about 10 diffrent ones.anyone got any ideas?

    You probably dont have the proper codec's installed
    go here.. download and install the nimo codec pack

    ya, you DONT have the codecs you need, installing that pack will solve the problem

    be careful of the full nimo pack cos its got spyware in it. try the nimo lite pack first
