    hi everyone,

I use the DENVER DVD-311 for quite some time now and was always
of impression this excellent player is Macrovision free.
I did not copy any DVDs on tape for abt 1 year and hv completely forgotten the stuff, but today I had to make one copy and to my greatest amazement the player obviously had Macrovision ON !!!!

I went to vcdhelp only to read that regionfree/macrovision hack on this player is as follows :

    - Power on the unit and open the DVD door by pressing
the "Open" button on the front panel
    - Press Setup
    - Use Remote Control to enter the following numbers 3, 3, 0, 8, 8
    - You will see in the top left of the screen "****" appear
    - Key in a number corresponding to the Region you desire your player
to be set to, i.e. 1 for Region 1, 2 for Region 2 and so on, use 0 for
    Region free

but this never worked for me [when i press "Setup" and then enter numbers 3 3 0 8 8 - just nothing happens (I do not see "****" anyplace on the screen).

On the other hand there is an item in setup menu )main page) reading "software version : E-XQ-M" but this item is faded (dimmed)
and I cannot enter this item's menu (however strongly I believe that the heart of my troubles is exactly in there).

Can any kind soul help me out of this impasse ?

maybe someone has got a flash (for all I know these players allow to change software version by inserting the CD-R with flash proggie etc.)

Would highly appreciate any help possible.

    many thanks

    hi,

further to my message of yesterday (see herebelow) - this is
just to add that I tried and re-tried the hack several times and finally managed to make the player regionfree.

the Macrovision HAS NOT been disabled, however, and I still cannot
make a tape copy of my DVD (the latter is an old one and couldn't have had newest additional protections, I am 100 pct sure.)

please, please, please - any ideas, chip-update flash(es), suggestions
etc. , whatever - to solve this problem ?

    many many anticipated thanks indeed.
