  1. Still having problems sending dv back out to vcr using Premiere 6.5.
captures fine, no problem with editing, but when it comes time to preview,
no matter how the settings are, still won't transfer out....How do I see it on VCR using qucktime...in other words I want to preview it, but Canopus won't engage, (and yes, my input switch is set to DV)

    Anyone with same problem?

If I choose Quicktime, I only get Desktop playback as a choice. Is there a plug-in for this?

    Thanks...I'm an idiot

I supsect the problem is the codec you are using for the finished movie. Generally, you need to specify the required codec for the card - Canopus. For example, my capturecard will not output anything to tv unless i encode my movie using the DC30Plus codec.

  3. Do some diagnosing:

Connect from the Canopus ADVC directly to TV. Can you preview the clips on TV on Channel3 or by Toggling your TV-input to Video1 or Video2 or Ch3 ?

If you can preview then the problem is in how the VCR is set-up:
maybe when you re-hook the Canopus to theVCR you need to push the little button on the VCR that toggles Vcr/TV. If that does not work hit Record on the VCR with a loaded tape and pause see if you can preview the signal from the Canopus.

Computer ---> Canopus ---> VCR w/ loaded tape toggle button VCR/TV --> TV set on Channel3 or Video1 or Video2

  4. I don't know Premiere 6.5 since I am using 6.0. I am answering base on 6.0
Did you render your Project/work area? Premiere 6.0 won't allow preview thru firewire port unless it's rendered.
You can try to preview the unedited portion to see if it works?
