  1. I just found a good and easy way to convert a DivX to a VCD in EXCELLENT Quality (of course only if the DivX itself is good quality

    What you need:
    MacDivX Player
    Toast 5

    This it was, no VirtualPC

Open the DivX Player and "doctor" the DivX. It will then automatically open the doctored DivX. Now, predecode the audio of the DivX. It will save the predecoded DivX.
Now, while DivX Player is still open (VERY important) open Toast 5 and draw the predecoded DivX into Toast. It will start converting it into an MPEG 1 stream. Doesn't take that long, the quality is GOOD (at least with my standalone DVD player). I've encoded about a dozen VCDs with this method and not even one had an out-of-sync audio stream! Just perfect!
