Working off a clean NTFS XP Pro install with SP1, on a Intel 850 board.
Here's the catch: the Moviestar 4.24 drivers or the drivers installed by Windows autoupdate do not work. I get the 'device not found' error message - nothing solves it.
Solution: install the hacked 1.40 drivers by Spawn, available at
http://www.spawns.dk/svcd/main.htm
Presto, no more problems, I can even use Moviestar to capture, and no crash. Install the 70 minute Pal fix as well, this fixes the captures stopping after 70 min in Mpeg2.
Thought I'd flag this for frustrated Dazzles users out there (I know I m one). And for those who are considering buying a Dazzle, here s my own experience: very sensitive to your hardware and software setups, tech help non-existent, but reasonable quality once you get it going (rare).
