AVI help!!

Hi, i just downloaded "8 Mile" off of Kazaa, and theres seems to be a problem. The file is in .avi format and everytime i play it theres no sound, and the video is a black screen, no motion going on. I was wondering if there might be something wrong with the file or maybe i dont have all the codecs. I downloaded Divx codec, and the Nimo Pack Coded. Please someone help me out! Thanks a bunch! Get GSpot 2. It can tell you what codec the movie uses even if you don't have it yet. It's also great for identifying fake movies files that people seem to be sharing these days (though I don't know why they'd waste their bandwidth doing it).

Thanks very much for the reply CauCauCau. But i seem to be having the same problem. Gspot reported that i had all the codecs and that the file should play find, yet I still experience the same problem. Can anyone please help me out further? Could it be a fake file? There seem to be quite a few floating round on Kazaa recently.

hi, downloaded same file, it is a fake from kazaalite. check www.vcdquality.com for the real release, or look for tmd moviez on google for their webpage for the real release details.

i dont like web cams,but i also tried to get it,then i read the reveiws from real people that went out to see it.
yeah all the files on kazza are fake,it was even posted on newsgroups.
i didn't dl it,but ppl were saying it was corrupt,so not even on the newsgroups it was real.there are even messages saying that the movie sucked.
irc-i tried it once,i quess it takes a while to learn how to use it(weeks).

it depends on where the film first hits the theater.if its relesed in other contries before the US,i get screeners or even dvd rips before its in the theater in the states.it also depends who does it.lately a few groups have stop makeing them,so less ppl to release them.
kazaa will have fake files always did.
no ftp,you cant ask for that here anyway.
about irc,do a google search or post question in the off topic section.there are ppl here that use irc.
