    this all links in...

Right, what causes a vcd on a dvd player to slow down but play the audio ok, then for the film to quickly speed up and catch up with the audio so it is all back in sync again?

What options in TMPEG control this as my VCDs are stuttering and playing really bitty on my standalone DVD player.

Thanks a million for any help.

  2. It has almost certainly got little or nothing to do with TmpGenc, not if you are encoding standard VCd anyway. Usual things to try in these kind of circumstances are to try different brands of media, CRDW instead of CDR and check out your player on the DVD players list here on this site, you might learn something about it. If you are encoding anything non standard, then stick with the standard TmpGenc templates and get them working before you start tweaking.

  3. Yeah thanks.
It is supposed to play all media CD-Rs.
One point to note is that this happens when DivX is converted.
Strange that it happens on my player but not on the other player in our house.
Does anyone actually know what kind of things are encoded that makes the film catch up with itsself when it goes out of sync.

    Cheers again.
