quick question...
about the Pioneer DV-333
In order to watch european DVD encoded w/ PAL, will i need to use a special converter to watch it on a standard tv? It's an old Sony -- and i have no idea as to whether or not it's "Multi-Region"...
this is the one i'm referring to....
http://www.sarainternational.com/DVDCODEFREE/PIONEER/ CodeFreeDV333DVDPlayer.htm
it says it plays all 6 regions... but, do i need to use an additional attachment??
get back to me!!

NTSC DV-333 caonverts PAL- > NTSC fairly well. Don't expect 100% smoothness, but it's more than watchable.

So, i don't need a converter??
and what does 'not a 100% smoothness' mean? is it gonna look staticky and blurry???
thanks! -
Nope, sharp and clean, but since it's altering 25 -> 29.97 fps movement is not 100% smooth. The only way to improve playback quality would be to rip and do a real frame convert.
Note: No adapter you can buy would be 100% unless it did a true frame rate conversion ( near impossible for a standalone device ).
