  1. How do you write a downloaded SVCD file to a CD? I can replay the file back correctly using Quicktime, but am unable to write the file using Toast. Any ideas?

    TIA!

If you just want to write it to a data CD then try Nero (again ) and burn in CD-ROM (ISO) mode - but it won't play in DVD player.

  4. Thanx for your reply. It appears that Nero is PC only, is this correct? If this is so, I guess you are suggesting that there is no current way to do this (easily) on a Mac.

    TIA

There is a version of Nero for the Mac. It is called NeroMax, but it is not worth looking for. I know that it can be done, but I've never messed around with SVCDs, VCDs only. Check here: http://homepage.mac.com/rnc

  6. Is your SVCD file a .bin or .mpeg or .mpg ? They all can be put on to a cd and played on standalone DVD players the process is just a little different.

So here we go... If you have a .bin file start at step 1 if it is .mpeg or mpg then go to step 3

    1. If you file is a .bin the just drag the file into toast just make sure you select disc img from the other menu, click burn and then burn cd. 9 out of 10 times this will work.. If not go to step 2.

    2. The Bin will not work no biggie just fire up VCDtoolX (get it at versiontracker) click on the vcdXrip button give it the path and let is work. When it is done you will have a .mpeg file. got to step 3

    3. Fire up VCDtoolX if you have not already done so. Ok you have your .mpeg file now click on vcdXgen give it the path to the file and set a output location. (This step takes almost no time at all) goto step 4

    4. Ok now click on the vcdXbuild button, select the .xml file you just created in step 3 and set an output location click start (this will take a little time depending on the size of the file and your cpu and disk speed, on my setup it take about 30 to 40 seconds for a 800 meg file) done... goto step 5

    5. Open up toast select multitrack XMA from the "Other" menu and then drag and drop the files from the folder that you just made.
VERY IMPORTANT!!! Do not use the file with "PREGAP" in it all all. and remember to drag the file in order ie... videocd1.img, then videocd2.img next and so on. when you are done click burn and then burn cd...wait and then enjoy

I think I got it all if not feel free to email me kevin@gatesisthedevil.com

    Hope this helps.
