Has anyone successfully made this region free? I read off some forum somewhere that someone in Australia had an RV31 and got Panasonic to send him a "PanaDVD"(?) and made it region/macrovision free, but when I e-mailed Panasonic about it, they said they offered no such thing. Anyways, I looked at the hacks for the RV31 here as well and one of em says some trick where you press Eject on the player, and 9,8,1,7 on the romote, then enter until you see 9 on the display, and press return. This trick doesn't work for me... Is it just mine or what? The other ones work for me though, like the hold Pause and Eject/Fwd and pressing a number on the romote.

I have the RV41 (which is RV31 plus built-in DD 5.1 decoder). Mine was made region free by the retailer when I bought it. It required a firmware upgrade. Ask around your local independant retailers to see if any of them have the relevant disk and will upgrade yours. They may want a small fee though as you didn't purchase it from them.
