i know it might be here somewhere but,
i am thinking of buying a dvd rw but which one is the best to get now
the dvd-rw or the dvd+rw model
any help would be apreciated as i dont want to spend all me money on the wrong one

You could just get the new Sony DRU-500A which will burn both formats and the price on this drive really isn't that unreasonable.

DRU-500A has been out long enough to show its problems. One amongst the others: media incompatibility. While true - or + drives are compatible with all of their respective media, DRU-500A is only compatible with some (~75%). So it can as well be the worst choice.
Both media types remain for years and in burned form will be compatible with players anyway. Budget decision is - ofc.
