  1. This has got to be a joke and the PS2 is pissing me off. I recently bought a couple of DVD's from Japan, and they are dvd compatible. I am not too sure about the region. Every dvd worked except for 2 completly differnet dvd's. I would load them up and the PS2 would say disk error. I would clean them about 60 times and still nothing. Finally one day i decided to screw around with the settings and configuration such as to language. Lo and behold the dvd's worked, i switched it back to english and then they worked again. Then came a point where it stopped working. These DVD's have no scratches. I tested them out on other DVD players and they work fine. I reinstalled the PS2 dvd driver disk about 10 times. Is there some kind or region config that i am supposed to play with to get it to work?
No matter what i do sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. This only happens with those 2 DVD's. I dont think they were burned wron, becasue they work great on standard DVD players. Every other DVD is fine. As well on the PS2, but except those 2 i am having trouble with!!!
    PLEASE HELP!!!!!

  2. You said you don't think they are bunred wrong.... are they dvd-r by any chance because the ps2 isn't exactly the best player for dvd-r movies (actually in my experience one of the worst)

  4. If it's silver on the bottom then it's original.
If it's purple on the bottom then it's a dvd-r.

  6. There's not really a lot you can do i'm afraid. Like I said ps2s make lousy dvd players. You could always buy yourself a cheap set-top player?
