Guys,
I'm using an ATI AIW radeon on Windows 2000 (NTFS), Athlon XP 1600+. When I enter capture mode in virtualdub, approximately the top 5% of the signal (all the way across horizontally) has a blurred, damaged-looking picture. It looks sort of the same as massive compression does, the way it's heavily macroblocking. The strange part is, it's not the actual inputs/cables; If I remove all inputs to the card, and switch between the 3 input modes (S-Video, Composite, Tuner), that top 5% has a distinctly different appearance, as though something's not quite right about it. While most of the empty signal capture is black/snowy, that top 5% flashes green and white. I'm not sure exactly where to start and was hoping someone had experienced a similar issue.
Thanks for your help,
LK.

Not sure if this helps, but it seems to occur on shows that have the most 'action'. on toons it's significantly less apparent, while on live-action shows it's more obvious. On the tivo menu there's no distortion at all.

My guess is that you are using old drivers or that you havent tuned in the channel 100%
But since I'm not sure more answers are welcome
