  1. Hi there,
my problems started when I was trying to fix the audio synchronisation for a movie. I tried to do it with interleaving but I can`t save or open the file because VirtualDub gives me the error message"The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format.Check that the sampling rate and channel count of the input match those of the requested format." What does that mean? Does anyone know how to fix it
    thank you guys

  2. You have, most likely, AC3 for sound. Follow this guide.

  3. Thanks for your quick respond. However I have some problems with the headac3he program. At first it gave me some error messages as soon as I opened the program though I have installed the latest plugins. Then I tried some other plugins so that I didnt have the error messages anymore. Because I didnt really know how to rename the audio file to .ac3 in WinXP I used the Dos modus to do it which worked. But still headac3 doesnt want to open the file. It says:Source file's last frame incomplete or corrupt stream. But I still don`t think that the audio data is corrupt because I can play it with wmp. It`s justbadly synchronized. But what did I do wrong then?

  4. says:Source file's last frame incomplete or corrupt stream.
I see this a lot when I have extracted AC3 with vdub. Headac3he has actually opened the file tho. A couple of things you can try:

When converting in Headac3he, set the last frame to 1 less than is displayed and then convert.

If this doesn't work, run the file through a program called AC3fix.exe. Use google to find it coz I can't remember where I got it from! The convert with Headac3he.

  5. Thanks bugster, it took me a while but it finally works. Nice program. It did a good job. The funny thing is that now also the synchronisation is right. Ok I got now this huge wav file. Can I compress it somehow? Which way would be best without loosing the synchronisation again. Thank you all. This forum is amazing

  6. It depends on what you want to do with your AVI. If you want to encode it to (S)VCD then just load your WAV as audio source and AVI as video source into TMPGEnc (or your preferred encoder). If you want to just keep it as AVI then follow this guide here:

    http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/virtualdub_procedures.htm

(You only need the section called Multiplexing)
