Just bought one of these players after reading some good recommendations, and I'm kinda stuck...
Managed the multi region hack no problem, but it didn't disable macrovision... anybody know another way of disabling macrovision on this player?
The other problem is with NTSC DVDs. I'm in the UK (so PAL format) and the only options I have for NTSC are NTSC output and PAL 60 - neither of which are recordable on a PAL VCR - any ideas peeps? TIA

Strange I purchased a S224 and mine kicks out a PAL 50 signal!
Which is recordable in colour from an NTSC film! ..i.e VCD with no Macrovision -
I have no probs with VCDs, strangely enough these do kick out a standard PAL signal... putting it down to VCDs being encoded near 30hz rather than 60?
But when it comes to NTSC DVDs I'm stuck... I'm taking a guess that the hardware is therefore capable of outputting a 50hz pal signal - it's just that there is no option to select it. Guessing a firmware upgrade may cure this? Pleeeease. somebody help! It's otherwise a fantastic player which I may end up having to sell
