Hi there,
I am capturing with a Win TV PVR 250 to mpeg2 dvd files. I am having no problem capturing the files and then burning with Ulead Movie Factory but where I am having trouble is then converting to divx format. I want to also have a copy of my captures on my pc and the 500 mb files are way to large. When I try to convert to divx with Virtualdub like I have in the past I get a MPEG Import Filter: Synchronization error when I load the mpg2 file. Am I doing something wrong or is there another format or another way I should be doing this.
Thanks in advance.

Virtual Dub does not like MPEG-2. If you have a registered version of TMPGEnc Plus, or a fresh version of TMPGEnc (less than 14 days old), they can save as File-->Out to file-->AVI file.

Hey thanks for the reply. I tried but Tmpeg does not like the mpg2 files WinTV PVR created. It says that it can not open or is unsupported. Now what? Thanks again

Hey man, try AVISynth-I have used it for the purpose of reencoding mpeg2 quite often and it handles well.

How do you use DVD to AVI to create divx files? Is there a guide anywhere? Thanks
