  1. Hi there,

I am capturing with a Win TV PVR 250 to mpeg2 dvd files. I am having no problem capturing the files and then burning with Ulead Movie Factory but where I am having trouble is then converting to divx format. I want to also have a copy of my captures on my pc and the 500 mb files are way to large. When I try to convert to divx with Virtualdub like I have in the past I get a MPEG Import Filter: Synchronization error when I load the mpg2 file. Am I doing something wrong or is there another format or another way I should be doing this.
    Thanks in advance.

Virtual Dub does not like MPEG-2. If you have a registered version of TMPGEnc Plus, or a fresh version of TMPGEnc (less than 14 days old), they can save as File-->Out to file-->AVI file.
    Hello.

  3. Hey thanks for the reply. I tried but Tmpeg does not like the mpg2 files WinTV PVR created. It says that it can not open or is unsupported. Now what? Thanks again

Hey man, try AVISynth-I have used it for the purpose of reencoding mpeg2 quite often and it handles well.
    End of Line.

  6. How do you use DVD to AVI to create divx files? Is there a guide anywhere? Thanks
