  1. I have followed the guides on this website and hope to create a one disc cd VCD from a DVD. I used DVD2AVI (version 1.76+ by LOLI.J) in the frame serving step and have successfully created the .d2v and wave files at the end of the step. But, I can't load the .d2v file into the TMPGEnc ( version 2.58.44.152) video target. There is a msg box prompt out saying that .d2v file cannot be opened or unsupported.

What is the problem? Please help. Thanks a lot.

  2. kim,

as far as I remember, there are a couple of ways to load the .d2v file into TMPGEnc.

Have a look at this post:

I don't use DVD2AVI much, but I think when I have, I've used the VFAPI app, which you can download from:

    http://www.divx-digest.com/software/vfapi.html

..to create a 'fake avi' from the .d2v file - which you can then open in anything that can open .avi files (including TMPGEnc) ...but there is also a plugin for TMPGEnc I think.

' hope that is of some help,

  3. Have you got the file dvd2avi.vfp in the same directory as your dvd2avi.exe file?

Have a look in TMPG under OPTION, Environmental Setting..., then choose the VFAPI plug-in tab.

In that list you should see:

    DVD2AVI Project File Reader 1.76

Make sure this is ticked and that in the file column it says dvd2avi.vfp.

If all else fails, just uninstall dvd2avi and reinstall again with a new version (from the tools section). When you then restart TMPG it should recognise the the .vfp file.

You could also try increasing the priority og the dvd2avi.vfp file in TMPG as well (although I've never had to do this myself).

    Cheers

    GGS.

  4. Use EazyVCD from www.eazyvcd.tk. Its a simple, fast, easy program that will make DVD==>VCD with one click. Since your making a dvd to one disc your bitrate will be very low, and that will make a bad quality vcd. Your going to make a XVCD since your changing the bitrate.
    I would recommend using 2cds
