i have asked before, but im still a bit baffed.
If i have a widescreen movie that has black bars when watching on a wstv, when encoding in tmpg i set the source to 4.3 full screen keep aspect ratio because if i select 16.9 the bars double in size and when playing back on my dvd player the pictures to small.
But when i have a widescreen movie thats comes out in full screen when watching on a wstv,
i.e
resident evil (r1)
predator special edtion (r2)
terminator special edtion (r2)
Ali G In Da House (r2)
What should i set the source to,if i set it to 4.3 as above i get full screen and 16.9 i get standard black bars.
as here it says something about it....

please could someone help me out here.
thanks

Some movies should have black borders on a wstv and some not(~2.35:1 should have it and ~1.85:1 should not). And then you have anamorphic dvds that makes it even more confusing. You could read this for some more info

cheers Baldrick,i read them i understand it but the thing is all them movies i put down r 1.85:1 except ali g ,i think thats 2.35:1 yet all of them come out in FS on my WSTV,but when i select the sorce as 16.9 full screen keep aspect ratio on tmpg i get the black borders. The only way i can get them FS like they was when playing from the original is to set the source to 4.3.
But that site i put up in this post it tells u your ment to put the black boarders. Also that site says something about dvd players ajusting a svcd.
Also all the release i see on vcdquality of the same films there've all got the boarders.
I wise someone could make there mind up,i keep getting all this different stuff,1 saying one thing another saying some thing else.
