Hello,
How do I burn a movie using a DVD burner? Can you please give me a step by step guide? Thank you.
I already have the vod files in the hard drive. I can watch the movie from my hard drive using powerDVD
What is that goes into the blank dvd-R?
I have tried using veritas but it wouln't burn because it doesn't fit. The dvd-r blank disk reports only 4,090KB and the movie of course is about 4,700kb. I have tried to remove one of the vob files to make it lower than 4,090 and yes it does the burn test fine.
What am I doing wrong?![]()
Thank you

Get IFOEDIT at Derrow's site and read the tutorials at the bottom of the main page.

This last one, is a killer step by step guide.
I did not think that DVDR duplicating was that complicated. I thought it was matter of just puting the movie into the DVD player and put my blank DVDR into the DVD burner and hit the copy botton.
Wow! So in order to make an exact dvd copy I'll have to split the movie into 2 DVDRs, so I don't loose any quality at all, huh. -

you don't allways have to split the movie... -
I never split the movie to 2 DVD-R's. You have the option to transcode (shrink) the video. The loss in quality is usually very minimal.

Wow! This is too inconvenient! Who is going to be spending all that energy, time, money and patience to copy a DVD movie? Isn't it better too dedicate a computer for watching the movies?
I tried to burn the "Bad Boys" movie using the DVD to 2 DVD-R guide and it did not work for me.
I was even willing to sacrifice the 2 DVDs per movie in order not to loose quality on video and audio (DVD audio is already poor for my taste) but it was not fun. I coudn't make it.
Which video card has a good video output?
Which audio card has a good digital output 5.1 or even 7.1 channel?
This way I could hook it up to my home theater system.
Is it possible to get some descent video from a PC DVD player as oppose to a standalone DVD player?
Or better yet pay $8.00 for the movie on EBAY. -
If you are looking to build an HTPC, then checkout the AVS Forums. They have a forum dedicated to HTPC's and the questions you are asking.

Just think if i posted the method off doing streaming dvd's - every tom dick and harry would be doing it - infact there are others out there already doing it and i've just cotten on to it - All you have to do is put a little thought behind it - i still use dvd decrypter for dvd quality. Its only when you come across larger vob sizes and to be able to place a complete film on one dvd with no layers...... it wont be long now
