    is it possible to get an mp3 file from a wmv file?

    You are referring to wmv (Windows Media Video) and not wma (Windows Media Audio) right?
    It is possible, but I don't know of a one step procedure. You can load up the .wmv file in TMPGEnc, go to the file tab and select output to wave. Then using Lame with the RazorLame GUI load up the wave file, select the parameters you want and output to mp3 format.

    thanks a lot... btw, other encoders will also work ryt? cuz i dun use lame, i use windac to encode... ;P
