  1. Hi,

I'm new to this forum, although I've used the tips on the site for a few weeks now.

I've captured footage to my PC from DV camera, and can create an AVI movie no problem. Then, I use the TMP conversion prog. to convert to MPEG-2. This MPEG-2 plays back fine on my PC, but when I burn an SVCD using Nero, although it all appears OK, the movie plays back on my DVD player, the image shimmers and flickers badly when the camera pans or a subject moves. My DVD player is the Alba DVD103 which is in the SVCD compatible list.

I was just wondering, is this flickering/shimmer effect caused during the burn process, or is it a fault with my DVD player (i have no other player to test it on)?

    Any help?

DV footage has a diffrent field dominence than other footage.

In TMPGenc, settings/advanced/field order.. switch it for whatever is there. Re-encode ( I know a bear, but well worth it ) and re-author and burn. It should be fine now.

    Cheers.
