What templates offered in the tools section are the best for encoding MPEG2 files, I think I prefer SVCD, but my player also will play XVCD.
I know quality depends on each user, what one thinks is great others may view as not so great.
But Im looking for a decent template, that doesnt sacrifice too much loss in original quality, but doesnt need to be perfect. Also I dont mind using 2 cd's (80min cd) for a burn. But one cd with decent quality would be grand!
Just interested in what the more experienced users are using in respect to templates that are offered on this site.
BTW, I am speaking in terms of converting a DIVX movie into a MPEG2.

I would give Kwag's a try.

I don't like any of the templates, so I made my own for 2 disc SVCDs.
Basically:
2 pass VBR - min 1800 avg - 2350 max 2500 - motion - highest.
Audio 192kbps.
this will put a 90min movie on 2 discs with excellent quality.
Figure 6 hrs to encode on a XP1700 processor.
