  1. Dont let the Junior on the sidebar fool you! Im a VCD expert. I fit The Godfather Part 2 SVCD on 1 yes i repeat 1 74/650mg CD!. I wont lye to you, the quality wasnt great but fitting a 3 hour movie on 1 74min CD is Amazing!

  2. hey dude.. i believe you did it.. i have yet to make an svcd, but i have been fitting full movies on 1 disk the whole time. i am very interested in the svcd issue, because i have read a lot about it, that the quality is great, yada yada.. but refuse to waste 3 disks for a movie. care to elaboarate on what you did to get 3 hours on one disk? it was no problem for me to get 3000 miles to graceland, as well as starship troopers on 1 disk using lvcd templates (cbr = 650, aud @ 96k stereo), but i still get some macroblocking on high action scenes. your end product looks like what?

  3. its impossible, even with 64kbps audio you wouldn't even be able to achieve 500kbps for video.

yes it is possible to achieve a low bitrate non-compliant vcd, but svcd, wrong answer JUNIOR!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Only 3 hours?

I fit 14 and 1/2 hours onto 1 650 Meg CDR, granted the picture quality has a gameboyesque quality to it and the sound was wiry.

Here are my TeenyWeeny vcd (twvcd)tmpgenc settings:

    352x240
    29.97 fps
    CQ 1, Quality 1
    Motion Search Precision Fast

With IVTC I can get 3 more hours (17 hours, 24 min)

Using subs without sound, for 1 cdr, I can get 26 hours!!!

  6. Why Go to SVCD with its very high quality if only to ruin it by changing the bitrate lower than 2520. You are the same people that watch CRAP VHS, in the 6 hour mode (aka EP)using $60 VCR's.
I use SCVD because I want it to look as close as it can to the original Source.
But then again it could just be me, I only own high quality home system equipment from JVC SVHS, Laser Disc, DVD to the Kenwood THX certified receiver it plays through to my JVC 36in TV. So I would like the best picture I can record on a 80 cent 99min. CD-R. When I compare the original source to the finished SVCD, it looks very close to the same quality. I even encode my VCD's at that higher 2520 SVCD bitrate, 1150 bitrate looks worse than Crap VHS tape.
Yes if I use a source than is longer than 97-105min. I would need to use 3 CD's. Yes getting up once or twice to change the SVCD is not a perfect idea, but I can't stand to watch a digital picture that looks bad, fuzzy or has the blockiness in it.
Then Again I don't watch regular VHS also.

  7. I THINK YOU ARE ALL FULL OF IT
WOTS THIS ABOUT 1150 BIT RATE BEING WORSE THAN VHS ...BULL
1150 IS NOT BAD QUALITY . I USE THIS FORUM FOR HELP SOMETIMES BUT I LL HAVE TO RE THINK BECAUSE YOU ARE ALL ANTIPODEAN AMATEURS
MY 3 YR OLD SON CAN DO VCD S AND SVCD S BETTER THAN YOU LOT.......

  8. I agree with "thxkid". Why bother making a SVCD if the quality is crap. Why not go VCD? What is the point of being able to perfectly rip a DVD with the great picture quality and then turn it into a piece of crap looking SVCD. Why even bother ripping or downloading the DVD copy. WHy not go on the internet and download the screener if you want shit quality.

To BIGTREE2001, you probably do get your 3 year old son to do your VCD'S and SVCD's because from your other posts (eg.HI HOW DO I CONVERT MY 12" LAZER DISCS ON TO VCD I CANT SEEM TO FIT THEM IN MY CD TRAY. I DESPERATELY WANT TO WATCH THEM)he seems to be smarter than you

If your source material is just about perfect then yes, a compliant VCD is better than VHS. However, rarely is that the case (for me) so I almost always end up making XVCD's to get quality that's close to the original.

  10. Im not a junior but i made an error in my typing. 2 cd's aight?

  11. LISTEN M8 MY SON IS SMARTER THAN ME ...ONLY SLIGHTLY THOUGH
BUT HOW SMART DO YOU NEED TO BE TO KNOW WHEN YOU VE BEEN HAD.......
