I am trying to capture some of these Sportcenter commercials on espn's site. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/thisissportscenter/archive is the site. If anyone has any pointers then please let me know.

If Streambox VCR doesn't work for you, I've had great success with a piece of software called ASFrecorder. Not sure if their site is still up (i know the development on the project is stopped) , and it only caps microsoft's asf format, but i have never had a problem with it.

I'll give it a try. I probably should have given more info. I can't find the url espn is referencing, and I tried snagit but the player has layered screens so its just black when I capture it.

You can get the url of the file on ESPN's server by clicking the cable modem link, then the windows media link, and then right clicking in the windows media window. Select properties and you should see the url for the file in the location field.
i.e. for the y2k video I got http://entmedia.go.com/ESPNvideo/y2k_300.wmv
